About How I Help
The first session is a chance for us to get to know one another. You are welcome to share your reasons for coming to therapy and what you hope to gain. We will explore how to work together in a way that feels comfortable and supportive. You will never be pressured to share more than you feel ready for. The process unfolds at your pace, with safety and collaboration as our foundation.
This approach goes beyond traditional talk therapy by including the wisdom of your nervous system. We explore how patterns of stress, shutdown, or overwhelm are stored in the body and gently work with those responses using nervous system-informed techniques. This supports healing that is not only emotional and psychological but also deeply rooted in how your body experiences safety and regulation.
We gently explore issues at your pace, focusing on how your body and nervous system hold and express the impact of past experiences. You are always invited to share only what feels safe and supportive. Our work centers on building safety, awareness, and regulation in the present moment.
Yes. Online therapy can be just as effective as in-person sessions. Many clients find that being in the comfort of their own space enhances safety, which is essential for trauma healing and nervous system regulation.
I work with adults, women, and also have a particular focus on supporting women in midlife and beyond—especially those navigating trauma, anxiety, life transitions, chronic stress, and emotional dysregulation. Many of my clients experience nervous system patterns such as shutdown, overwhelm, or a persistent sense of tension or alertness.
They are often compassionate, capable individuals who hold many responsibilities and care deeply for others, yet may find it difficult to access a sense of internal ease or balance. These clients are seeking meaningful healing that supports both emotional well-being and nervous system regulation.
We use a variety of gentle, body-centered tools that are always adapted to your needs and nervous system capacity. These include:
- Breath awareness to support calm and presence
- Tracking body sensations to build internal awareness and grounding
- Orientation practices (noticing sights, sounds, and surroundings) that support your nervous system in feeling grounded and safe within your environment
- Vagus Nerve Regulation tools to support calming and connection
- Recognizing stress responses such as fight, flight, freeze, or collapse
- Co-Regulation- grounded in a calm, attuned space where safety can emerge
- Nervous system education to help you understand and shift automatic reactions
These tools are offered with care and collaboration, always within a trauma-informed framework.
Sessions are typically 50 minutes long. Most clients begin with weekly sessions to create consistency and build safety. Over time, some choose to shift to biweekly or maintenance sessions, depending on your goals, schedule, and nervous system needs.
- Initial intake session (75 minutes): $300
- Ongoing individual therapy sessions (50 minutes): $250
If you are not sure whether this work is the right next step, I offer a free 20-minute consultation to talk through your needs and answer any questions.
I am an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance directly. However, to support this process, I provide a monthly superbill, which is an itemized receipt that you can submit to your insurance company. I am happy to walk you through this process and offer guidance on how to make the most of your benefits.
Yes, I am certified in nervous system-informed therapy through Jessica Maguire’s internationally recognized training program. This advanced certification is grounded in the latest neuroscience and emphasizes body-based, compassionate approaches to healing. In addition to this specialized training, I am a licensed therapist in both California and Michigan, with extensive experience in trauma-informed care, somatic practices, and attachment-based therapy.
Please provide at least 48 hour notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. This allows me to offer the time to another client. Late cancellations or missed appointments may incur a fee, as outlined in our agreement.
Your privacy is very important, and I deeply respect the trust you place in this work. Everything you share in therapy is confidential and protected by law, with a few exceptions such as risk of harm to yourself or others, or legal requirements like a court order.
I understand it can feel concerning to wonder if what you say in therapy might be shared. Please know that, outside of those rare exceptions, your information will not be disclosed. You are free to talk about anything without fear of it getting out. If you have questions about how confidentiality works, feel free to ask during a free consultation or any time during our work together.
We will always go at a pace that feels manageable for you. If you feel overwhelmed, we can pause, slow down, or take breaks as needed. Your sense of safety is a priority, and we will work together to ensure you feel grounded and supported throughout the process.
The length of therapy varies depending on your goals and needs. Some clients experience meaningful progress within a few months, while others prefer longer-term support. We will review your progress regularly and adjust the pace and focus of therapy as needed.
Feeling safe and understood in therapy is essential. If at any point you feel that our work together is not the right approach for you, I welcome you to share your thoughts. We can talk openly about what feels most supportive, and if appropriate, I can help connect you with another provider who may be better suited to your needs.
My approach integrates nervous system-informed therapy, trauma-informed care, somatic awareness, attachment work, and mindfulness-based techniques. Every session is tailored to meet your unique goals and nervous system capacity, honoring both emotional and physiological healing.
At this time, I do not offer sliding scale fees. If financial concerns are a barrier to beginning therapy, please contact me. I may be able to offer suggestions or referrals to low-cost services.
Progress in therapy may show up in many ways, including increased self-awareness, better emotional regulation, a stronger sense of internal safety, and changes in thoughts, behaviors, or relationships. We will regularly check in on your goals and adjust the work to best support your growth.
If you experience a crisis or an urgent need between sessions, please contact emergency services or a local crisis line. While I do not offer 24-hour crisis response, we will discuss resources and regulation tools during our sessions that can support you between appointments.
You are welcome to begin by scheduling a free 20-minute consultation. This time gives us a chance to talk about your needs, answer any questions, and explore whether working together feels aligned and supportive for you.
